Campfire Kitchen
Outdoor Cooking, Science & Practical Skills
Service Description
In this practical micro-unit, students learn how to plan, prepare, and safely cook simple outdoor meals through a blend of at-home learning and guided outdoor instruction while exploring how fire, food, and preparation work together in real-world settings. Through menu planning, fire safety lessons, recipe practice, cooking tool exploration, and camp-style meal creation, learners connect math, science, literacy, and life skills in a meaningful outdoor environment. Rooted in both science and Scripture, Campfire Kitchen equips students to understand not only how food is prepared outdoors, but why responsibility, patience, and stewardship matter in everyday skills. Students leave with: • A personal camp recipe journal • Practical outdoor cooking knowledge • Basic fire safety understanding • Confidence using simple camp cooking tools
