Our immersive outdoor programs bring science, art, and adventure to life for all levels of elementary students. From desert plants and animals to geocaching, camp cooking, and creative nature-based art, each unit combines field exploration, hands-on activities, and engaging lessons designed to spark curiosity and build real-world skills.

 

All programs come with complete curriculum and all necessary supplies, so students can dive straight into learning—whether in the backyard, at a local park, or on a field trip—while connecting to nature, faith, and practical skills.

Desert Roots:
Growing Food & Faith
Where We Live

Desert Roots: Growing Food & Faith Where We Live is a four hour, hands-on plant science experience designed specifically for upper elementary students, but can be tailored to your student's educational needs and interests. 

In this immersive mobile lab, students explore how food grows in our unique desert climate while discovering the science behind soil, seeds, water systems, and plant life cycles.

 

Through experiments, garden building, interactive stations, and a student-led cooking lab, learners connect biology, stewardship, and real-world responsibility.

Rooted in both science and Scripture, Desert Roots equips students to understand not only how plants grow, but why caring for the land matters.

Students leave with:
• A planted seed project
• A Garden Passport workbook
• Practical desert growing knowledge
• A deeper understanding of stewardship

Desert Life: Discovering Plants, Animals & Faith in Our Desert Home

Desert Life: Discovering Plants, Animals & Faith in Our Desert Home is a four hour, hands-on desert science experience.

In this immersive mobile lab, students explore how desert plants and animals survive in our unique climate while discovering the science behind habitats, adaptations, food chains, and seasonal patterns.

Through observation walks, specimen study, interactive stations, movement activities, and guided nature investigations, learners connect biology, environmental awareness, and real-world responsibility.

Rooted in both science and Scripture, Desert Life equips students to understand not only how living things survive in harsh environments, but why every part of creation has purpose.

Students leave with:
• A Desert Discovery field journal
• A desert organism identification guide
• Practical knowledge of local plants and animals
• A deeper understanding of creation and stewardship

This lab has been broken down into three levels loosely based on age/grade level to match your student's educational interests. 

Nature's Art Studio: Creativity, Observation & Nature-Inspired Expression

 

Nature's Art Studio: Creativity, Observation & Nature-Inspired Expression is a four micro-unit, hands-on outdoor learning experience designed specifically for all students.

In this creative micro-unit, students use both at-home projects and outdoor field study to explore how nature inspires art through color, texture, pattern, and form.

 

Through sketching, land art, nature-based techniques, and reflective art projects, learners connect observation, artistic process, and personal expression while developing a deeper awareness of the world around them.

Rooted in both creativity and wonder, Outdoor Art Studio equips students to understand not only how art is created, but how slowing down and observing carefully can deepen both learning and appreciation for creation.

Students leave with:
• A personal nature sketch journal
• Outdoor-created art projects
• Practical knowledge of art techniques inspired by nature
• Greater confidence in creative expression

Desert Quest: Mapping, Navigation & Discovery Through Geocaching is a hands-on outdoor learning experience designed specifically for upper elementary students.

In this flexible program, students build navigation skills through a blend of at-home learning and guided field studies while exploring how maps, coordinates, landmarks, and technology help us understand the world around us.

Through weekly lessons, navigation challenges, GPS practice, scavenger hunts, and live geocaching adventures, learners connect geography, problem solving, observation, and real-world application.

Rooted in both science and Scripture, Desert Quest equips students to understand not only how to navigate with confidence, but why curiosity, perseverance, and stewardship matter in every environment.

Students leave with:
• A personal field journal
• Practical map and coordinate skills
• Experience using GPS and navigation tools
• A deeper understanding of exploration and responsibility

Campfire Kitchen: Outdoor Cooking, Science & Practical Skills 

Campfire Kitchen: Outdoor Cooking, Science & Practical Skills is a four hour, hands-on outdoor learning experience designed all students.

In this practical micro-unit, students learn how to plan, prepare, and safely cook simple outdoor meals through a blend of at-home learning and guided outdoor instruction while exploring how fire, food, and preparation work together in real-world settings.

Through menu planning, fire safety lessons, recipe practice, cooking tool exploration, and camp-style meal creation, learners connect math, science, literacy, and life skills in a meaningful outdoor environment.

Rooted in both science and Scripture, Campfire Kitchen equips students to understand not only how food is prepared outdoors, but why responsibility, patience, and stewardship matter in everyday skills.

Students leave with:
• A personal camp recipe journal
• Practical outdoor cooking knowledge
• Basic fire safety understanding
• Confidence using simple camp cooking tools
